Management of Chicken Coop in Winter about Drinking Water, Feeding and Ventilation

Due to the low temperature in winter, it is the season with frequent occurrence of infectious diseases. Therefore, farmers need to pay more attention to the management of chicken raising. It is necessary to know that if the chicken feed is not managed properly, it will directly affect the economic benefits of raising chickens. If you do it in winter How about chicken management?
Drinking water management in standard chicken houses is particularly important. When chicks need to pay attention to the control of waterline height, improper height will cause poor uniformity of chickens, which will bring serious problems to later management. Medium and large chickens need to pay attention to the adjustment of waterline height and waterline pressure. Generally speaking, the specific operation can be done according to the manufacturer's requirements, and the manufacturer's instructions are also more detailed: there are water levels corresponding to each age. Another thing is that during the feeding period, especially in the middle and later stages, the inspection of the waterline nipples must be done every 2-3 days (because of the addition of drugs), the waterline should be washed in time after medication, and the pressure regulator should be cleaned once a week. Treat with an acidifier once a week. If these aspects are done well, it can ensure the amount of drinking water for the chickens without serious watering; on the contrary, the chicken house will have a strong ammonia smell, and the chicken manure is not easy to deal with.
Feeding management
Regardless of whether you use a feeder or a feeding line, you need to pay attention to: feeder ----- Pay attention to the replacement in different periods, add a fence, and if it doesn't work, lay plastic paper under the material barrel to prevent material throwing. Feeding line ----- pay attention to the gradual increase in the adjustment of the scale of the material tray in different periods. (Pay attention to whether there is feed under the grid.) Attention to these aspects will greatly improve your feed ratio!
Chicken House Ventilation Management in Winter
According to recent visits, most of the current standard chicken houses are equipped with automatic temperature control. But the air inlet still needs manual adjustment! But most breeders still don't understand the principle. Now make the following explanations:
Ensuring accurate air intake and avoiding the cold of the chickens is the key to ventilation in winter
In the cold season, the fresh air entering the chicken house should maintain a certain wind speed and direction, so that the fresh air entering the chicken house and the warm air in the chicken house are fully mixed, so that the temperature rises and then touches the chickens, avoiding direct contact with cold air Chilling stress in flocks. In order to achieve this purpose, it is necessary to install an exhaust fan and an air inlet with an adjustable damper on the side wall of the chicken house for negative pressure ventilation. The following top view shows the air flow in a house with negative pressure ventilation. Negative pressure ventilation should keep the chicken house in a partial vacuum state (static pressure is generally 1.25mm-2.5mm). The wind speed is the same, so that the cold air entering from the outside and the warm air in the house can be fully and evenly mixed.
Air inlet with adjustable damper, cold air flows to the roof of the house to avoid cold stress to the chickens
Minimum ventilation is required in the cold season. Take a flock of 10,000 chickens with an average weight of 0.5 kg as an example, and its total weight = 5,000 kg. 5000kg*0.0155m3/kg/min (minimum ventilation)=78m3/min. To provide this minimum ventilation, use a 1.4-meter fan with an efficiency of 10,000 cfm, which needs to rotate for 2.75 minutes every ten minutes. Based on weekly body weight: 1----180 grams, 2----420 grams, 3 ----810 grams, 4----1350 grams, 5----1850 grams, 6----2300 grams. The weekly ventilation volume and fan opening time can be calculated.
The air exchange rate of the ventilation must be adjusted with the age of the chicken. As the chicken grows older, the heat production and water vapor volume increase, and the air exchange system rate also needs to be increased. The minimum ventilation rate is determined according to the minimum fresh air demand required by the chicken body, which is directly proportional to the bird's weight. The minimum ventilation required per kg body weight of broilers is 0.0155 m3/kg body weight.
According to the ventilation volume of the fan used under the set negative pressure and the weight of the chickens stored in the house, the ventilation volume per hour and the time that the fan needs to be turned on can be calculated. For example, if there are 7100 chickens in a chicken coop with an average weight of 2 kg, the minimum ventilation required is 7100×2×0.0155=220 cubic meters per minute. Two 1-meter fans with a ventilation capacity of 17,000 cubic meters per hour (283 cubic meters per minute) need to be turned on for 23 seconds per minute. Design with a fixed clock The ventilation mode can be designed to open for 69 seconds, stop for 111 seconds, and cycle every three minutes, which can meet the minimum ventilation requirements of chickens. According to the ammonia and humidity conditions in the chicken house environment, the adjustment rule is: slight ammonia increases for 15 seconds, heavy ammonia increases for 30 seconds, and more moisture increases for 15 seconds.
Calculation of the ventilation opening: When the size of the air inlet matches the exhaust air volume of the fan, a 1-meter fan needs about 1.4 square meters of air inlet; a 1.4-meter fan needs about 2 square meters of air inlet. If the opening area of one of your windows is 0.2x0.5=0.1 square meters, then there must be 14 windows when a 1-meter fan is normally open, and the area is different, and so on. In order to maintain a reasonable negative pressure and make the chickens feel comfortable, the adjustment of the air inlet must be adjusted continuously with the increase of the age of the chickens.
It should be noted that the minimum height of the air inlet from the net bed should be no less than 0.5 meters; the distance from the bottom of the horizontal fan to the back of the chicken should preferably be more than 0.5 meters. Prevent the chickens near the fan from catching a cold! In addition, the temperature control setting in this season is best to use temperature control plus cycle control (considering the large temperature difference and meeting the oxygen demand of large chickens).
